The Gun Violence Prevention Political Action Committee (G-PAC) was founded to counter the political influence of the gun industry and their lobby in Springfield. G-PAC raises the resources necessary to protect and elect public officials with the courage to stand up to the gun lobby.
G-PAC is a non-partisan political action committee.
Every year in Illinois, an average of 1,000 people are killed by gun violence and countless others are seriously injured; most are children. The devastation imposed by this epidemic on our communities and families is unimaginable – it is the price that we are forced to pay for a culture of gun violence that has been allowed to flourish without accountability for far too long.
Polls show that a majority of gun owners and non-gun owners favor alike sensible gun safety measures to save lives. G-PAC provides campaign support to legislators committed to keeping guns out the hands of criminals, gang members, domestic abusers and the dangerously mentally ill.
G-PAC’s political program supports endorsed candidates using time tested field and messaging strategies proven to influence single issue, like-minded voters to vote on election day. Our experienced team offers candidate recruitment, training, and strategic campaign support including targeted direct mail and
television.
The most important thing you can do to protect our children, families and communities in Illinois is to make a contribution to G-PAC today. Gun industry profits are being invested by the millions into the gun lobby to fight passage of lifesaving legislation in Illinois and across the nation. Elected officials in Illinois need to know that they can count on our support when they stand up to the gun lobby and fight for legislation that will protect illinois children, families and communities.
With support from a growing coalition of legislators committed to ending the epidemic of gun violence in Illinois, the organization will fight to ensure passage of a responsible, common sense gun safety agenda. See our current Voter Guide here.
