G-PAC APPLAUDS SCOTUS DECISION UPHOLDING GHOST GUN RESTRICTIONS
G-PAC & Advocates Helped Pass 2022 State Ban on Untraceable, Homemade Weapons
CHICAGO – The Gun Violence Prevention PAC of Illinois (G-PAC), the state’s leading gun violence advocacy organization, today issued a statement on the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling upholding limitations on so-called “ghost guns.”
“We welcome the U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding limitations for buying and selling untraceable ghost guns,” said John Schmidt, G-PAC Executive Board Member and former U.S. Associate Attorney General. “The ruling is another sign that the Supreme Court recognizes the Constitution allows for common sense gun regulation. G-PAC and many committed advocates worked hard in 2022 to see the state ban on ghost guns enacted, thanks to Illinois leaders Gov. JB Pritzker, Attorney General Kwame Raoul, Rep. Kam Buckner, Sen. Jacqueline Collins and other gun safety champions.”
