State’s Largest Gun Safety PAC Endorses Congressman Danny Davis
Cites proven record of courageous leadership
The Gun Violence Prevention Political Action Committee (G-PAC) announced today the endorsement of Congressman Danny Davis in the democratic primary for the 7th District. “Congressman Davis has been a reliable and fearless leader in the fight to protect children and families from gun violence. He is the only candidate in this race with a proven record of repeatedly standing up to the gun industry and their lobby, consistently standing for measures that will keep our communities safe,” says Tom Vanden Berk, chair of the board for G-PAC. “As a father who lost a son to gun violence and someone who has spent years advocating for victims and survivors of this epidemic, I know the importance of supporting elected officials who genuinely care, take immediate action, and fight for us when so few in Washington will. To that end, I am proud and honored to announce G-PAC’s endorsement of Congressman Davis. We look forward to continue having his authentic, persistent, and tireless commitment, and his undaunted and courageous leadership in our nation’s capital.”
According to G-PAC, Congressman Davis is the one candidate in the race with a strong, definitive history of actually voting for gun violence prevention legislation that holds firearms manufacturers accountable for the damage their weapons cause; protects women from domestic abusers with guns; safeguards children, families, teachers from military-style, assault weapons, and high-capacity ammunition magazines; stops illegal gun trafficking by closing the gun show loophole and requiring universal background checks; and increases investment in communities disproportionately impacted by violence and poverty.
The Gun Violence Prevention Political Action Committee (G-PAC) was founded by gun violence survivors to counter the political influence of the gun industry and their lobby in Illinois. G-PAC helps elect public officials with the courage to stand up to the gun lobby.
