We elected a gun safety majority – now let’s get to work!

Now that every vote has been counted, I am writing with some great news for Illinois: Because you donated to our campaign efforts, used our gun safety voter guide, volunteered on our phone banks and shared our social media, we elected 57 gun safety candidates in Springfield. More, the country elected a presidential ticket with a meaningful gun violence prevention platform. Hard work pays off!

This election cycle, G-PAC endorsed our largest and most diverse slate of gun safety candidates ever. Most notably 5 districts were flipped to gun safety advocates, two in the senate and 3 in the house. In total, 82% of G-PAC endorsed candidates won their races. This model is one that the organization will also deploy to hold legislators accountable for passing life-saving public safety legislation.

Now that we’ve elected them, we need to hold them accountable. G-PAC’s mission will be to make sure that the gun safety majority takes swift action on critical, live-saving public safety legislation soon after they are sworn in to the new term.

Thank you for your support in making this possible. Onward!
