I received a great note from Lee Goodman at Peaceful Communities that I just had to share with you. Father Phleger is hosting his Annual Peace March tomorrow and Lee thinks it’s important that we all join the march to send a message to our policymakers that we want them to protect our children, families and neighborhoods from gun violence.
Lee’s note:
This Friday, June 19 from 7:00 to 9:30 pm the annual Peace March will be held at St. Sabina Catholic Church at 78th Place and Throop in Chicago. A thousand people are expected. But what if five thousand showed up, not just from the South Side, but from all the neighboring suburbs, to affirm that all lives matter? What if twenty thousand showed up, letting the politicians see that we are united in our desire to make this world safer for everyone, not just for people from certain neighborhoods? What if you and I showed up? What will change if we don’t? I hope to see you there.
We agree. Thank you Lee for your commitment to ending the culture of gun violence in If you have time, please join Father Mike tomorrow.
If you haven’t had a chance to see the Unforgotten art display, you can see it at St. Sabina’s before the march. You won’t want to miss this moving tribute to our local victims of gun violence.
Hoping for a peaceful summer,
We agree. Thank you Lee for your commitment to ending the culture of gun violence in If you have time, please join Father Mike tomorrow.
